Cellist Jukka Rautasalo graduated from the Sibelius Academy in 1993 and further studied Baroque cello, gamba and orchestral conducting in masterclasses. He has guested as soloist and conductor with most of the Finnish orchestras since 1996 and is a regular visitor at the Finnish music festivals in various chamber ensembles. A member of the Avanti! Chamber Orchestra since 1985, he has been third solo cellist with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra since 1996. Jukka Rautasalo conducted The Sixth Floor Orchestra as their Artistic Director from 2001-2005.
